The 12 Days of Christmas

Day #11On the Eleventh Day of Christmas

My true love raised his glass.

“Cheers to our 25th Christmas, our

future’s even brighter than our past.”

Warm up with a Hot Toddy and your Christmas Eve will be full of cheer. It’s one of the easiest winter cocktails and can be customized based on your preferences.

Start with 1.5 oz Brandy, Whiskey, or Rum.  Add 1 Tbsp honey and juice from half a lemon. Add 1 cup hot water, a tea bag, and a cinnamon stick.

For a non-alcoholic version, steep your favorite tea and pour 7 oz into mug. Add 1 Tbsp honey, juice from half a lemon, a sprinkle of ground cloves and nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick.

Experiment with various tea flavors and brands. Add and subtract winter spices to make it perfect for your taste. Most black and green teas blend well. Cinnamon and spice teas are a favorite, too.

So, grab a mug of your favorite Hot Toddy and share a toast with your friends and loved ones. Christmas is just a wink away!

Our last guest for the season is a brand new friend of mine, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to her just in time for her next release.

Commitment makes you weak...

It’s playboy Carter Richardson’s motto. The only exception to the rule is his aunt, and when Carter learns she’s terminally ill, he rushes to her bedside. Filled with fear and guilt—and desperate to ease his aunt’s mind—Carter does the only thing a guy could do…he panics and blurts out that he’s engaged to his aunt’s enticing protégée.

Lauren Olsen has already had her heart crushed once by Carter. Against her better judgment, she agrees to keep up appearances—until Carter makes their “engagement” public in order to protect the family business. Now Lauren’s torn between obeying her conscience, and obeying her desire. Because while she could never trust the womanizing Carter she once knew, she seems to be falling for the man beneath the playboy…

Pretending with the Playboy goes on sale 12/29 at Amazon and B&N. Reserve your copy today for just $.99.

The 12 Days of Christmas

Day #10On the Tenth Day of Christmas

My true love said “Come sit with me.”

We sat in the glow of the tree lights,

And talked about all the memories.

One of my husband’s fondest memories of the Christmas holidays was when he would go to his grandmother’s house and help her put up the model fireplace. It wasn’t officially Christmas time until he and his cousin were finished and Nana had taken their picture standing next to it. Though she passed away a few years ago, he’s preserved the model kit and still puts it up every year in our house. It’s a beautiful memory of his time with the only grandparent he ever knew. It reminds me that time itself is one of the greatest gifts we can give and receive. Don’t take for granted the traditions you practice through the holidays, as they create memories that last forever.

I’m excited to have Abigail Sharpe here with me today, sharing with us the second book in her With This Ring series.

Who Wants to Marry a Doctor? by Abigail Sharpe

As a single mom and pediatrician, Sabrina Bankhead doesn’t have time for romance. All that changes when she reluctantly agrees to take part in a dating show fundraiser for a children’s hospital. But once she sets eyes on the journalist hired to cover the show, none of the four contestants stand a chance. If she doesn’t choose one of the eligible bachelors, the hospital doesn’t raise a cent. What’s a lovestruck doc to do?

Investigative journalist Quinn Donnelly is on the mend after an assignment in Afghanistan left him both physically and emotionally scarred. Though he’s itching to return overseas and finish his story, he’ll have to be content with this fluff piece assignment to cover a local dating show. One-night stands are Quinn’s forte-but after he meets Sabrina, he’s ready to say yes for the long haul. After years of chasing the next big story, Quinn is starting to wonder if maybe home really can be where the heart is . . .

About the Author

Abigail is a Boston-bred Yankee now eating grits and saying “y’all” in North Central Florida. She dreamed more of being a stage actress or joining the CIA than being an author. While she still enjoys participating in community theater productions and singing karaoke, the secret-agent career was replaced by hours at her computer, writing stories of love and laughter and happily ever after. Abigail lives with her husband, two kids, and one crazy princess puppy.
