Today we’re going to focus on our men and women in the service.
One of my best friends’ responses to the What are you asking Santa for this year question was this, “I’m Asking Santa to use his magic to bring all our boys in the military home to their loved ones who are praying for their safe return.”
Every one of us is effected by our troops being overseas, whether it’s a friend or family member. Last Christmas, my brother-in-law was half way through his fourth tour-of-duty, his third Christmas away from family since he and my sister married just seven years ago.
So today is a tribute to our soldiers. If you have a friend or family member away from home these holidays, list them in your comment. Give us their name, branch of service, and where they are stationed if you feel comfortable sharing. We would like to thank them for their service and lift them up in our prayers. I’ll leave this post up for two days so that we can gather as many names as possible.
Three Ways To Enter:
1. Leave a comment lifting up those in the service – it can be a general statement or specific to those in your life.
2. Facebook and Tweet to your friends about this posting.
3. Bring a friend to the party. Anyone leaving a comment that tells me you sent them, they’ll get an entry and you’ll get a bonus entry.

Thank you so much for the prize! I have several adopted soldiers as well as a couple of friends whom I honor for their service and sacrifice and I am relieved that two of my previous ‘adoptees’ have made it home safely. I would like to add the names of Zaida and Chris to your list but naturally, I pray for all of our brave men and women who serve and their families who sacrifice even as they support these heroes.

I was a Secret Santa to a gentleman serving in Afgan (omgoodness, spelling area of the brain has departed my mind at the moment) this Christmas and My family were secret santas to the family that was stateside. (Yes, I come from a LONG line of family member serving and we know (and deal with) the stuff that comes along with it. ) I am very proud of service men & women for their devotion to keep us safe….
Happy Holidays

I am blessed enough to say I have marine home with me as he got out in 2008 after serving 8 years with many deployments only being home about maybe 3 years of that time… But i remember spending many christmas’s without him and just having our oldest with me. I however have many active duty friends who are in Afganistan right now some who got out and are contractors… My brother-In law who is active duty air force is also home with my sister and niece. We are a big military family hubby is 3rd generation marine, Both real and step dad are army retired. Merry Christmas and hope that our soldiers, sailors, marines, men/women, and coasties have a blessed holiday and stay safe if they are deployed.

I am so excited to have won! Thank you!
To further my post from the other day about us surprising our families last Christmas, and the reason why it was a surprise is because my husband is Active Duty Army and we currently live in Germany where he is stationed. He has not been in the States for more than two weeks at a time since January 2009. Please continue to keep him and all of our servicemembers and their families in your prayers.

I really enjoy the holiday season. I enjoy the smells, the food and lights. Oh and the music too. Not much into baking anymore. But I do enjoy tasting, ask my scales.
Tee Hee. Thanks for being part of the Holiday Blog Hop. Great blog.

I’ve had so many people in my family I can’t count them. That includes, my husband, my son and me. Hubby is retired, but son is moving from Ft. Carson to the Chicago area this week. They started packing-out on Christmas Eve.
