Fantastic Friday

Saying Thank You

Have you ever had one of those days that was so amazing you couldn’t go to sleep that night?

Yesterday was that day for me.

I stayed up until midnight, just to savor every last moment.

What happened?  It wasn’t just one thing. (I didn’t win the lottery.) It was all the little things that just kept coming.

To start with, my son’s midterm grades for his first semester in college were better than any of the high school grades he ever made. Then, I received a lunch invitation from a dear friend I haven’t seen in several years. I even found one of those Starbucks ‘free birthday drink’ postcards buried on my desk from last month. It’s the little things that make us smile, right?

And that was all before 10am.  I can’t begin to count the times I stopped, took a breath, and simply marveled at the blessings that were flowing my way.

On top of it all, Winter’s Magic, the first book in my Music City Hearts series, went live on Amazon and Barnes & Noble yesterday morning. Last night I was on Facebook and started noticing all of the ‘shares’ and comments my friends and family had made about the event. The emails and personal notes flooded my in-box.  It is so touching to know how much they care and support me.

So today’s Fantastic Friday is about thanking those who cheer you on, tell you you’re the greatest, keep you going when you hit a road bump and want to give up.  I can’t begin to thank everyone who’s encouraged me along the way, the list would be too long and I know I’d accidentally leave someone out.  But you know who you are.

Who has been your biggest inspiration? A support in reaching your goals, no matter how public or personal they are? Do you need to make a phone call, send an e-mail or an e-card to someone who’s always there in the background cheering you on?

DO IT TODAY – Give them a Fantastic Friday to talk about!

  1. What a terrific day you had. It’s wonderful that you have such a great support system. My family and friends are supportive also. I don’t know what I’d do without them. Hope you continue having these days.
Winter’s Magic sounds fantastic. I can’t wait to read it. Wishing you much success with your book and everything you do.
